The East Block / l'Édifice de l'Est

This is a fairly large painting I made a few years ago of the East Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa early in the morning at the end of winter. In the background, you can see that the Gatineau Hills are starting to show some colour and on the right side, the sun shines its warm golden glow on the buildings bringing them to life. I managed to capture all the details on the building because this was the view I had from my office building for many years. I guess I was real lucky to enjoy such a view as the seasons changed.

Ceci est un assez grand tableau que j'ai fait il y a quelques années de l'Édifice de l'Est sur la Colline parlementaire à Ottawa tôt un matin à la fin de l'hiver. Vous pouvez voire dans le fond que les collines de la Gatineau commencent à montrer un peu de couleur et au côté droit, que le soleil brille de son éclat doré sur les bâtiments pour leur donner vie. J'ai réussi à capturer tous les détails de cet bâtiment car c'était la vue que j'avais de mon bureaux pour de nombreuses années. Je suppose que j'étais réellement chanceux de profiter d'un tel point de vue à travers les saisons.
