Look what I found / Regardez ce que j'ai trouvé

This is a companion piece to a painting I posted on January 7, 2007. When my grandson first saw that earlier painting, he asked me why he wasn't in the image (because he remembered that he was present at our strawberry-picking outing!) Well, I've created a separate painting for him. In this painting, he looks a little serious or maybe a little wozzie from eating more strawberries than his little tummy could hold.
Watercolour, 15.5 x 12 inches (39 x 30 cm).

There's a sort of enchantment at the lake during that "magic time" which is sometime after the glory of a sunset has passed and before the stars come out to shine.
Watercolour, 15.5 x 12 inches (39 x 30 cm).

This morning I made this plein air sketch in the Gatineau Park at the Huron Lookout. The view down the escarpment overlooking the Ottawa River is alway spectacular. With the trees changing colour the scene is even more inspiring.
Plein air painting is always a challenge. Sometimes you have to deal with insects, other times with wind or showers. This morning it was fairly chilly and my fingers almost went numb. I was relieved to get to the point where I felt the sketch was completed.
Watercolour, 11 x 8 inches (28 x 20 cm).
