Magnolia

My star magnolia tree is now in full blossom. It's a sort of harbinger of the good weather that has finally arrived in Ottawa-Gatineau. It was pleasant just to sit outdoor and to slowly sketch the blossoms in the warm sunny weather in my small Moleskine sketchbook.

These drawings are very good, especially the flower ones. Personally I like these drawings more than (some of) your painted ones. Sometimes in your use of colour, it takes the attention away from the composition of the elements. Especially those with saturated colours (but not in the beautiful painting of le lac inondé). Maybe you should reconsider the use of vivid colours.
BTW: the hatching in this drawing is very well done. Cross hatching is difficult, but you did it perfectly.
