While Prince Edward County in Ontario is well-known for its beaches, vineyards, restaurants and natural beauty, there's another element that's noteworthy: its architecture. As you travel through the County, you'll notice may old houses from the turn-of-the-century. You can see them in small villages like Wellington or Bloomfield but also in the largest town, Picton. Most are in very good condition and have colourful gardens in the front yards. Its pleasant just to take a stroll in these neighbourhoods. Some of these houses offer bed-and-breakfasts, which is another way of enjoying them. This sketch is of an interesting house that I noticed near downtown Picton. Like many others, it has a character and style of its own.

Bien que le comté de Prince Edward, en Ontario, soit réputé pour ses plages, ses vignobles, ses restaurants et sa beauté naturelle, un autre aspect mérite d'être souligné : son architecture. En parcourant le comté, vous remarquerez de nombreuses maisons anciennes datant du début du XXe siècle. On peut les admirer dans de petits villages comme Wellington ou Bloomfield, mais aussi dans la plus grande ville, Picton. La plupart sont en excellent état et possèdent des jardins colorés à l'avant. Il est agréable de promener dans ces quartiers. Certaines de ces maisons sont des gites, une autre façon d'en profiter. Ce croquis représente une maison intéressante que j'ai remarquée près du centre-ville de Picton. Comme beaucoup d'autres, elle a du caractère et un style unique.
