It hasn't been a very nice spring so far this year - cold and wet. Since April 1, we've received around 240 mm of rain (which in addition to the snow melting, means that our watershed has been at all-time highs). In my community, flooding began about two weeks ago and hasn't stopped. This is the scene about 2 km from my home. Nearly 800 people have been evacuated and entire neighbourhoods are under water. While the flooding began in Pointe Gatineau, it has extended to a vast territory including many cities like Petawawa, Ottawa, Rockland, Maniwaki, Montreal and Trois Rivières. They say that the rivers are cresting now . . .

Ce n'est pas un printemps très agréable cette année - froid et humide. Depuis

de la fonte des neiges, signifie que notre bassin hydrographique a été à
un niveau record). Dans ma communauté, les inondations ont commencé il y
a environ deux semaines et ne s'arrêtent pas. Ceci
est la scène à environ 2 km de chez moi. Près de 800 personnes ont été
évacuées et des quartiers entiers sont sous l'eau. Alors que les
inondations ont commencé à Pointe Gatineau, il a étendu à un vaste
territoire, y compris de nombreuses villes comme Petawawa, Ottawa,
Rockland, Maniwaki , Montréal et Trois-Rivières. Ils disent que les rivières sont à leur maximum maintenant ...
