This winter, I've had the good fortune to visit Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba once again. It's a lovely place. The beach seems neverending and the sun was much appreciated (especially this winter which started early in November and has been colder than usual). The staff at our hotel were very friendly and helpful. During my visit, I made several sketches on the beach and around the resort. The above sketch is of small catamarans that would sail back and forth along the shoreline when the breeze was not too strong. I used a new watercolour paper made by Clairefontaine which I found to be extremely absorbent with a nice surface. Over the next days, I will be posting more sketches that I made in Cuba.

Cet hiver, j'ai eu la bonheur de visiter Cayo Santa Maria à Cuba à nouveau. C'est un endroit charmant. La plage semble être sans fin et le soleil était très apprécié (surtout cet hiver qui a commencé tôt en novembre et a été plus froid que d'habitude). Le personnel de notre hôtel était très gentil et serviable. Lors de ma visite, j'ai fait plusieurs croquis sur la plage et autour du resort. Le dessin ci-dessus c'est de petits catamarans qui naviguent le long de la côte quand le vent n'était pas trop fort. J'ai utilisé un nouveau papier d'aquarelle faite par Clairefontaine que j'ai trouvé extrêmement absorbant avec une belle surface. Au cours des prochains jours, je publierai plus de croquis que j'ai fait à Cuba.
