It seems that almost every year I take the opportunity to sketch the star magnolia tree in our yard or at least some of its white blossoms. This magnolia is one of the first spring flowers that open on our property - aside from a few crocuses - so, naturally it gets us excited for the blooming season ahead. Its sweet fragrance and bright petals are a true spring tonic.

Il me semble que presque chaque année, je profite de l'occasion pour dessiner le magnolia étoilé de notre jardin, ou du moins quelques-unes de ses fleurs blanches. Ce magnolia est l'une des premières fleurs printanières à éclore sur notre propriété – à part de quelques perces neiges – et, bien sûr, il nous remplit d'enthousiasme à l'approche de la floraison. Son doux parfum et ses pétales éclatants sont un véritable baume printanier.
