Just next to the La Pêche River falls in Wakefield (Quebec), you'll find the beautiful Wakefield Mill Hotel and Spa. It's a well-kept establishment having initially been built as a flour mill in 1838. In 2000, the old mill was painstakingly renovated into a modern hotel while keeping many of its historic elements. The hotel fits in seamlessly with the natural beauty of the falls and forest. While creating this painting from a photo that I took at the site, I found myself incorporating all sorts of details into this relatively small image.

Juste à côté des chutes de la rivière La Pêche à Wakefield (Québec), vous trouverez le magnifique Moulin Wakefield Hôtel et Spa. C'est un établissement bien entretenu, construit à l'origine comme moulin à farine en 1838. En 2000, l'ancien moulin a été minutieusement rénové pour devenir un hôtel moderne tout en conservant bon nombre de ses éléments historiques. L'hôtel s'intègre parfaitement à la beauté naturelle des chutes et de la forêt. En créant ce tableau à partir d'une photo que j'ai prise sur place, je me suis retrouvé à incorporer toutes sortes de détails dans cette image relativement petite.
