Leamy Lake Discharge Creek / Décharge du Lac Leamy

This is a digital painting that I made of the Leamy Lake Discharge Creek. I find this urban creek to be rather interesting. You can follow it on bike paths as it starts at a rather dirty source next to Highway 50 and makes its way to the Ottawa River. Along its shoreline there are some very attractive natural settings (like the one I painted), a couple of bridges (one exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists), a shipwreck (the Jean Richard/Ville de Vanier was shipwrecked and left in the creek in 1986 - see article here) and an archeological site (which extends from the creek along the Ottawa River). In the past, I've made a number of sketches of the creek while on my bicycle excursions in this area. I never seem to tire in exploring this area (even in winter).

Voici une peinture numérique que j'ai faite du ruisseau de décharge du lac Leamy. Je trouve ce ruisseau urbain intéressant. Vous pouvez le suivre sur des pistes cyclables où il commence à une source assez sale à côté de l'autoroute 50 et se dirige vers la rivière des Outaouais. Le long de son rivage, il y a des décors naturels très attrayants (comme celui que j'ai peint), quelques ponts (dont un exclusivement pour les piétons et les cyclistes), un naufrage (le Jean Richard / Ville de Vanier a fait naufrage et laissé dans le ruisseau en 1986 - voir un article en anglais ici) et un site archéologique (qui s'étend du ruisseau le long de la rivière des Outaouais). Dans le passé, j'ai fait un certain nombre de croquis du ruisseau lors de mes excursions à vélo dans cette endroit. J'ai toujours un intérêt d'explorer cette endroit (même en hiver).
