This is a quick sketch I made of some rowers on the Ottawa River at Rideau Falls. Of course we all know that the falls were named by Samuel de Champlain in 1613 when he was lead by his guides under them (viewing them like a curtain of water - 'rideau' meaning 'curtain' in French). While they're an impressive site (being 9 meters high), they cannot be compared to Niagara but they are nonetheless beautiful. As you can see from my photos below, there was a lot of traffic on the river when I made my visit.
