The swing / La balançoire

Lately, I've been working on an oil painting and was unhappy with a figure I had painted; I felt that the legs were too short and misplaced. Instead of messing around with the oil painting and perhaps creating another problem, I thought that I'd create a study of the figure. (Most people create studies before taking brush to hand. My error.) This is the result of my study. Now I have a better notion of how I want the figure to look like and can proceed with more confidence in making my corrections to the oil painting.

Dernièrement, j'ai travaillé sur une peinture à l'huile, mais j'étais malheureux avec une figure que j'avais peinturé; je sentais que les jambes étaient trop courtes et mal placée. Au lieu de jouer avec la peinture à l'huile et peut-être créer un autre problème, je pensais à faire une étude de la figure. (La plupart des gens font des études avant de prendre une brosse à la main. Mon erreur.) Ceci est le résultat de mon étude. Maintenant j'ai une meilleure idée de la façon dont la figure devrait ressembler et je peux procéder avec plus de confiance en faisant mes corrections à la peinture à l'huile.
