Like its river bed, the banks of the Montmorency River are very rocky and abruptly rise some 6 meters (20 feet) from the water like a wall. When you walk next to the water, in places the cliffs hang out over you creating a sort of canopy of rock and cedar boughs. While I'm not a geologist, it was fascinating to examine the sedimentary rock that was exposed.

A beauty this drawing! The framing with the pink rocks adds depth to the scene. And the water is excellent done. I wish I could do that. My water alwys seem a little stiff. I also liked the cascades of an earlier post: again the moving water was superb.
