The historic downtown of Savannah (Georgia, USA) was designed with many small parks or squares dividing the city into wards and giving the city charming neighbourhoods. There are now 22 such squares in the downtown core as well as a large park known as Forsyth Park, created in the 1840s. My sketch is of a superb fountain found on one end of the park. When I was there, the azaleas were in bloom and the fountain was glimmering in the sunlight between rows of oak trees with Spanish moss hanging from their limbs. Quite a sight!

Le centre-ville historique de Savannah (Géorgie, États-Unis) a été conçu avec de nombreux petits parcs ou places divisant la ville en quartiers et donnant à la ville de charmants quartiers. Il y a maintenant 22 telles places dans le centre-ville ainsi qu'un grand parc connu sous le nom de Forsyth Park, créé dans les années 1840. Mon croquis est d'une superbe fontaine trouvée à une extrémité du parc. Quand j'étais là, les azalées étaient en fleurs et la fontaine scintillait au soleil entre des rangées de chênes avec de la mousse espagnole suspendue à leurs membres. Tout un spectacle!
