Alcazaba of Malaga courtyard / Cour à l'Alcazaba de Malaga

One of my first visits in Andalucia, Spain was to the Alcazaba in Malaga. This citadel, built in the 11th century by the Moors, stands high on a hill overlooking the port. You can walk on its rampart walls as you slowly make your way up to its summit (where a small cafe is conveniently located). Beyond the Alcazaba, there's another castle called the Gibralfaro (the site of fortifications since the time of the Phoenicians in 770 BC). Unfortunately, I didn't make it that far. While descending, however, I almost missed visiting a lovely courtyard which had a fountain, hanging flowers, a topiary garden and a great view over the city. It was a great place for a rest and inspiration for a future sketch.
