Weathervane of the Confederation Building / La girouette de l'Édifice de la Confédération

There's a unique weathervane at the top of the Confederation Building's tower. It represents a 1920s flying boat known as the Vickers Vedette which were used for aerial surveying Canada's vast north. The replica on the weathervane weighs 63 kg (140 lbs) and has a wingspan of 1.5 m (5 feet). That's pretty impressive for a weathervane fixed 44 m high. As you can see in my sketch, it often attracts peregrine falcons that live downtown.
