This time of year makes me reflect over the passage of time. The growing season is now all but finished and plants are about to go into dormancy for the winter season. Good gardeners are already preparing for the upcoming spring by pruning their plants, mulching, and planting spring bulbs. While I looked at my cherry tree, I imagined how it appeared since last winter and then came up with the idea of creating this four-paneled illustration of a tree through the seasons - lignum per tempora - as I think they would say in Latin.

Cette période de l'année me fait réfléchir sur le passage du temps. La saison de croissance est maintenant presque terminée et les plantes sont sur le point d'entrer en dormance pour la saison hivernale. Les bons jardiniers se préparent déjà pour le printemps à venir en taillant leurs plantes, en paillant et en plantant des bulbes de printemps. En regardant mon cerisier, j'ai imaginé à quoi il ressemblait depuis l'hiver dernier, puis j'ai eu l'idée de créer cette illustration à quatre panneaux d'un arbre au fil des saisons - lignum per tempora - comme je pense qu'ils diraient en latin.
