Our cottage is located on a fairly large lake in the Upper Gatineau Valley. I can firmly state that there are many bays and inlets along the shoreline that would make beautiful subjects for paintings - and, yes I've already sketched and painted a few of them. However, I've always been attracted to this one: the entry to Baie Paul. The rocks and tall trees at the head of the bay clearly stand out as you pass them by, and they're positioned in such a way to catch the light - one side sunny, the other side shady. On a calm day, the reflective qualities of the water create a stunning mirror image.

Notre chalet est situé sur un assez grand lac dans la haute vallée de la Gatineau. Je peux affirmer fermement qu'il y a de nombreuses baies le long du rivage qui feraient de beaux sujets pour les peintures - et, oui, j'en ai déjà esquissé et peint quelques-unes. Cependant, j'ai toujours été attiré par celui-ci: l'entrée à la Baie Paul. Les rochers et les grands arbres à la tête de la baie se distinguent clairement lorsque vous les passez, et ils sont positionnés de manière à capter la lumière - un côté ensoleillé, l'autre ombragé. Un jour calme, les qualités réfléchissantes de l'eau créent une superbe image miroir.
