Pointe-Gatineau

This is a simple sketch of the two Lady Aberdeen Bridges crossing the Gatineau River at Pointe-Gatineau (the old trussel bridge and the newer cement bridge) and the St-Francois-de-Sales church built in 1886 on the site of the previous chapel. What caught my imagination was the perspective. The forest in the background isn't actually next to the church but across the Ottawa River in Rockliffe Park. When you are near the water level, the confluence of the two rivers can transform the scene in unusual manners.
