The outdoor skating season is rapidly ending. It officially closed on the Rideau Canal this last weekend as temperatures rose to 12 C. Regrettably, I didn't get a chance to skate on the canal because it was much too cold in January and because the downtown was completely occupied by belligerent anti-vax malcontents for most of February. Unbelievable. Fortunately I had the chance to skate at a municipal park in Gatineau at Lac Beauchamps. This large skating rink is arranged on the lake in circular skating paths allowing you plenty of room to practice your skills (or lack thereof). There were also cross-country ski trails for those interested.

La saison de patinage extérieur se termine rapidement. Il a officiellement fermé sur le canal Rideau le week-end dernier alors que les températures montaient à 12 C. Malheureusement, je n'ai pas eu la chance de patiner sur le canal car il faisait beaucoup trop froid en janvier et parce que le centre-ville était complètement occupé par des anti-vax mécontents pendant la majeure partie de février. Incroyable. Heureusement j'ai eu la chance de patiner dans un parc municipal à Gatineau au lac Beauchamps. Cette grande patinoire est aménagée sur le lac en pistes de patinage circulaires vous laissant beaucoup d'espace pour pratiquer vos compétences (ou leur absence). Il y avait aussi des pistes de ski de fond pour les personnes intéressées.
