Grand Lac Rond is located in the Upper Gatineau Valley of Quebec and is one of a series of lakes connecting the immense Lac 31 Milles to the Gatineau River. For decades this lake was known as Lac Roddick. (However, I confess that I don't understand the new nomenclature because the lake is neither round ('rond') nor is it as large ('grand') as some of the other lakes in the vicinity. Still, a rose by any other name still smells as sweet!) This painting was made from a photo that I took from my boat as I cruising. What initially caught my eye was the diving board set in the rocky shoreline. There are many other beautiful vistas on this lake which stretches at least 6 km from end to end.

Le Grand Lac Rond est situé dans la haute vallée de la Gatineau au Québec et fait partie d'une série de lacs reliant l'immense Lac des 31 Milles à la rivière Gatineau. Pendant des décennies, ce lac était connu sous le nom de lac Roddick. (Cependant, j'avoue que je ne comprends pas la nouvelle nomenclature parce que le lac n'est ni rond ni aussi grand que certains des autres lacs des environs. Pourtant, une rose de tout autre nom sent toujours aussi doux!) Cette peinture a été réalisée à partir d'une photo que j'ai prise de mon bateau en croisière. Ce qui a d'abord attiré mon attention, c'est le plongeoir situé sur le rivage rocheux. Il existe de nombreuses autres belles vues sur ce lac qui s'étend sur au moins 6 km de bout en bout.
