Aqua Taxi

While cycling along the Ottawa River, my attention has been drawn to a bright pontoon boat that has been travelling along a route from the Rideau Canal to the Museum of History to Pointe Gatineau and finally to the Casino at Lac Leamy. This shuttle service in Ottawa-Gatineau is called the Aqua Taxi. They also have a shorter route that runs more frequently. I think that its a great idea. Of course, this service is primarily for tourists, but it does raise the possibility of having public transportation on the river during the warm months (for instance, linking the downtown to Pointe Gatineau or the Aviation Parkway). Anyhow, this sketch was made from a photo I took looking towards Nepean Point and the statue of Samuel de Champlain holding his astrolab.
